Well it is the end of the soccer season. I am kind of glad that it is over, but I think i'm going to miss being around the environment every once in awhile. I know I am going to be coaching the same soccer team in the spring, so I have something to look forward to.
Anyway, on to the good stuff. We placed 3rd in our first tournament and got some awesome medals for it. I was glad that we came out of that tournament with something. We did hold our heads up as we came back into the next tournament, two weekends after that. I think we improved quite a bit in those two weeks. We got put into an even harder league with, I believe 12 teams. We were at the top of our division. We went to the finals giving the other team a run for their money. It was 2-0 in the first half, they were up. We came back and tied the game at 2-2 and went into OT. We finally gave everything we had towards that game, lasting all the way until the penalty kicks. We came out of that tournament with 2nd place and cool little trophies. I was so happy for our 5th and 6th graders. They did such an awesome job. We only lost two games the entire season, one in each tournament.
Basically, I am pretty excited to see who signs up for the spring season. I think that we will have an even better team, because players that were playing football can now play soccer. Well, thats it for soccer from me. Until next season!
